DOLE’s “Go Bananas After Dark” tour arrives in Minnesota

to christen the Twin Cities a “Top Banana Market”

and show food bloggers and the banana-loving public

that bananas aren’t just for breakfast and lunch anymore.


Demonstrating a unique connection to bananas,
Chef Tony Panelli of Caribe Caribbean Bistro
was chosen by DOLE Bananas to cook up his creations for a select group
of food bloggers and Twin Cities' media.

6:00pm: Go Bananas!

Check-in, banana mixed drinks, meet-n-greet, & banana grilling demo.


7:00pm: Eat Bananas!

Dinner is served.


•  2 complimentary Caribe signature banana
    drinks
(alcohol) for each guest.

•  Enjoy a unique, four-course, sit-down dinner,
    creatively featuring DOLE bananas in each dish.

•  Banana grilling demo: quick and healthy
     backyard grilled banana recipes.

•  Chef Tony Panelli will provide course commentary
     as you are served.

•  Networking, tweeting, photographing and
    shenanigans are welcome and encouraged.

•  Go Bananas after dark with fellow
    food writers, bloggers and local media.




Four-Course Caribe
Banana Dinner Menu:

 

I. Amuse-bouche

Chickpea curry over fried bread.
Topped with banana ketchup.

 

II. Appetizer

Crab cake topped with grilled banana aioli.

 

III. Entrée

Grilled 5-spice rubbed Frenched lamb chops
topped w/ banana-mango chutney.
Served with coconut curry bananas and jasmine rice.

 

IV. Dessert

Banana coconut rum crème brûlée

Shaina Olmanson

Shaina is the home cook and photographer behind Food for My Family and Olmanson Photography. She and her husband Ole strive to teach their four children to cook and prepare real food in a day and age where many people have turned to convenience foods because they are so readily available and hope to encourage others to do the same. Shaina wholeheartedly believes that food is what connects people. It is a part of our culture and our everyday life, and it can bring us together around the dinner table.
